I can't pinpoint a specific piece of advice, but rather a profound philosophy that has guided me. At the age of 8, I had the privilege of meeting a Ukrainian poet who shared with me the importance of embracing the '3 I's': instinct, intuition, and intelligence. According to this wisdom, each 'I' corresponds to a different part of our being—the mind, the heart, and the gut. To make sound decisions, these three facets must align.
Since that encounter, I've consistently applied this principle. When faced with a choice, I check if it resonates positively in my mind, heart, and gut. The poet's guidance has proven invaluable; every decision made in accordance with the '3 I's' has turned out to be the right one.
At 3, I knew I liked the construction industry, and by the time I was 5, I really wanted to be an architect. I did become one, but while studying and finishing my studies, I realized it wasn't what I truly wanted. However, I'm happy with the decision because it really helped me in art.
I always carry a notebook and a pen with me. What if I have a sudden idea? I always need to be ready to write down my thoughts! Of course, I can't leave home without my headphones because music sparks ideas. Oh, wait—I've already mentioned three things, but this last one is especially crucial to me: fries (and all kinds of potatoes). I eat them multiple times a week, whether I buy them, cook them, or enjoy them at restaurants. I'm a huge fan of potatoes, and I just can't imagine life without them! 🍟
At the top of my dream destination list is Australia. I've always envisioned celebrating New Year's on an Australian beach, revelling in the unique experience of enjoying the festive season in warm weather. I'm not a fan of cold climates, so the idea of swimming on New Year's Eve sounds like a perfect celebration. I imagine embarking on this journey as a solo traveler, eager to meet new people and share in the joy of welcoming the new year with like-minded souls.
Althea, the Community and Events Manager in Düsseldorf for Denizen, discovered me on Instagram while searching for individuals to organize events. I was delighted to join her initiative.
Denizen offers a more flexible environment compared to regular coworking spaces, and the overall atmosphere is simply more pleasant. Being at Denizen feels like home.
I particularly enjoy the community concept, as it blurs the line between work and leisure time. In this single space, you have the opportunity to experience various activities, including tasting different foods. 😜
💛💛💛
There are numerous options for academic art classes, and I consider myself fortunate to have commenced my art studies at a young age. Along the way, I encountered older individuals who expressed regret that they 'couldn't' pursue art in their free time. It seems that societal expectations often pressure us to excel in our hobbies, creating a barrier that dampens creativity if we don't perceive ourselves as exceptionally skilled.
With my workshops, I aim to provide adults with the opportunity to break free from these societal constraints, even if just for a night. I want to create an environment where individuals can engage in activities they genuinely enjoy without the burden of social expectations, fostering a sense of freedom and creativity.
Cheers,
The Denizen Team
