About the event

Create watercolor paintings using a direct and expressive approach that combines the spontaneity of sketching with color and light. Learn how to get started with watercolors, how to combine colors effectively and basic layering techniques. Watercolor can be a very efficient and fun medium, but it can also be a tricky medium to get started in. Learn from an expert and start with tried and true techniques to keep the process flowing. The beauty of watercolor can already come across through simple still life objects, such as fruit or flowers, when we focus on light effects or color combinations. 🎨

Each class will have a different subject matter and will cover different variations on the combination of line a wash. The artist-instructor will demonstrate each new technique and provide hands on assistance within a small class size. 🎨

A drink on the house: price includes 1x beverage during each class! (wine, soda, juice, etc)

Materials Included: Watercolors, brushes and paper are provided, but if you have your own watercolors and brushes, and/or watercolor sketchbook, feel free to bring them.

About the host

We believe that the experience of hands-on creation should be accessible to anyone and that drawing is not a skill reserved for art making but is an essential part of communication and perceiving the world.

The Berlin Drawing Room was founded in 2011 when American artist Mira O’Brien decided to offer the first Drawing Workshop in her studio. Since then, the offerings have expanded to include a variety of workshops with a focus on drawing and painting. We continue to branch out by collaborating with other organizations, such as the Prinzessinnengarten and the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin, and bringing additional artists into our team.
